Who I Am

After over forty years as a teacher and administrator, I now devote most of my time to creating art and sharing the joy of art with others through teaching , exhibiting, collaborating and mentoring.

I am a mixed media artist whose work often explores themes of equity, justice, and inclusion. I love to use iconic symbols in my work. Sometimes my work is inspired by the happenings in the world around me, a visual form of social or political activisim, and sometmes my work is more abstract, and sometimes it is just plain fun and playful. Drawing on my background in theater arts design, I work with materials such as acrylic, paper, wood, plaster, and fabric to create layered, symbolic pieces in 2-d and 3-d.

My work has been exhibited in Washington, D.C., Colorado, Texas, and New Jersey, including the Heidi Gallery, Trenton Artworks,  West Windsor Arts Council, and Arts Council of Princeton where I had a solo show titled Hands Talk in January 2026. A larger version of the Hands Talk series will be exhibited at Trenton Artworks in October 2026.

I welcome questions and engagement with my art. I welcome commissioned work and love working with the buyers to help their vision come true. I love opportunities to teach art classes in mixed media techniques. I invite ideas for collaboration on exhibits, art pieces and art activism.
